A village that plants 111 trees for every girl born in Rajasthan

A village in India is making sure that both girls and trees grow up strong and healthy. The village Piplantri in the northwestern state of Rajasthan plants 111 trees for every girl born and holds a deposit of 31,000 rupees ($520) for girl-averse families to collect after 20 years.

The offer stands as long as the daughters are nurtured, educated and not prematurely married off, the initiative has resulted in the growth of more than 250,000 trees over six years.

The name GOOGLE was an accident. A spelling mistake made by the original founders who thought they were going for GOOGOL.  Googol is a mathematical term 1 followed by one hundred zeroes.

LORD JESUS CHRIST IN CAR ACCIDENT

Believe or not the guy goes by this name. Just as expected of a victim with such a name, he forgave the person that had hit him with the car. The Lord Jesus Christ was actually hit by a woman. The only problem that the car driver had was that the police did not forgive her. She ran down the victim on a Massachusetts crosswalk.
The man is 50 years of age and hails from the town of Belchertown. After checking his id and passport the police officers were able to confirm that his name was indeed Lord Jesus Christ. The man luckily suffered only minor injuries on his face. He was treated at a local hospital and released on the same day. This was according to the republican.
The driver was clearly in fault as Christ was in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident. This was according to Captain Scott Savino.

Weblogs - New Media



The Internet is slowly transforming the new media because the people are depending on online sources of news instead of traditional print and broadcast media. Most of the people surf the sites like CNN but also turn to unique online news sources such as weblogs. The Internet provides text, audio, and video information. New Media is transforming the traditional media. We can take example of weblogs- known as blogs. Blogs have become very significant in the 21st century. 

Bloggers express their opinion on different issues and thousands of people give comments. The web also allows for a more interactive approach by allowing people to express their opinion. Many prominent personalities write their blogs and give unbiased opinions. Blog writing’s essential feature is direct participation of a blogger. Blogs are not only transforming traditional media sources but holding them more accountable too.

Role of Media

The term media is derived from medium which means carrier or mode. Media denotes to a medium specifically designed to reach a large audience or viewers. This word was first used with the arrival of newspapers and magazines. However, with the passage of time, this term expanded by the inventions of Radio, TV, Cinema and Internet.

Today, Media (Electronic Media) has become a necessary tool for information. It is playing an outstanding role in strengthening the society. Media’s important functions are to inform, educate and entertain the people. It helps us to know present condition of the world. The media has a strong social and cultural positive impact upon society. It is widely used to convey message to masses. It helps to build opinion and awareness.



Mass Media can be used for various objectives. The original idea behind the establishment of various ‘media means’ was to entertain masses. Radio, TV, Cinema, Magazines spend most of their resources targeting on entertaining items and programs. One of major duties of media is to inform the people about the News & Current affairs. They cover all beats like politics, economics, sports, health, environment, science, fashion, culture etc. Everybody can watch, listen, read latest news whenever and wherever they want.

Media also play an important role to explore various information and educate people in short span of time. People can better understand their rights and make better decisions after getting information by media. Media also can be used to educate people easily. Various Government organisations and agencies utilize the power of media to give informative message to public. It is also a medium for the advertisement to enhancement of business purposes.

The media has the power of educating people about every aspect of life including right of freedom of speech & expression. The media in the advanced society perform an important role to enlightening people and discourage sectarian, communal and divisive trends.

The Frenchman Louis Lumiere is often credited as inventing the first motion picture camera in 1895. Lumiere and his brother were the first to present a portable motion-picture camera, film processing unit and projector called the Cinematographer.
